Do you feel the softest setting feels too bouncy / too much rebound?

Hmmm... when I set my bilsteins to the softest they felt like it was a wild uncontrollable ride.... too bouncy.

Could it be Bilstein? or that's just what happens when you set coilovers too soft?
When i had it on a softer setting, I felt the rear end bounce slightly and feel somewhat loose on turns. no where near an 'unconrollable ride' but then again i don't know if they were on the loosest setting. I tightened them ever so slightly and I think I have the dampening tuned to my exact preference. I'm sure if they were on the absolute loosest settinng they may feel too soft but I guess it all comes down to personal preference

Yea I hate it when things are too loose...

There's 10 settings on the struts and I set it to 5 for now. When i have my summer setup, I set it to 7 or 8. (higher setting, harder it is) and feels comfy for 20's.

I was thinking the KW's too, but i was broke after the rims and couldn't afford it. hahaha.

I raised the rear a tad today because the rear tires were rubbing.
Time to roll your fenders and drop that bad boy back.

the fenders are rolled already. The back can't down any further or they'll rub. Maybe the front.
We'll see after they settle.

well either way I want to drive the car as is before I make any further changes. I think the dampening is perfect right now but if I raise or lower the height I'm afraid that it will effect the ride harshly. I think it's a good idea to wait a week....

It doesn't settle? hmm. I swore my car got lower after a few hundred miles on my coilovers.

Oh wellz, that's why they are adjustable. If its too low, re-adjust them.

Springs do indeed settle. Once the Race springs settled after two months, I found the car to be too slammed and bouncy. That was primarily the reason why I switched out of the H&R Race springs to PSS9 coilovers on my previous 545.

MYTHBUSTERS EPISODE #706: DO SPRINGS SETTLE AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME ONCE THEY ARE INSTALLED?

According to E60.net member Howitzer, "Cold forged springs do not settle." On today's episode of Mythbusters we will be putting this myth to the test. We have installed a set of KW V2 coilovers on our BMW 535i test vehicle. After adjusting the suspension to optimal settings, the clearance of the vehicle was measured at 6" in the front and 6 3/4" in the rear. Mythbusters will be driving the vehicle for exactly seven days and measured again. If the measurements are lower in after the test period, MYTH BUSTED. If the measurements are the same MYTH CONFIRMED. But before all you naysayers starts sending emails explaining one week is nearly not enough time for cold forged springs to settle, we here at Mythbusters have prepared for this situation. The Mythbusters newly assembled team @ Euro Rev will measure the clearance every seven days for the next two months. The results will be posted on this thread at the end of the sixty days.
