My fan control switch has broken off i thought this would have been a warranty claim but according to Peter Vardy BMW (Scotland) its wear and tear (the cars done 47k and is 3 years old) anyway a replacement is ?400!!!! guy said to have a look on ebay etc and so i did and can find one for around ?40 does anyone know how to replace it?

Absolutely disgusted i have to pay for it never had a problem like this in my life, its going back in for a software upgrade on the gear box and a new CD Player under warranty.

The controls look like these and its the speed control knob thats hanging off i thought we could just replace that but seemingly not.

Excuse the pic its just for reference

its reasonably easy to do, just gently pull off the centre trim panel, there's two screws that hold the control panel in place. you may have to have the replacement programmed, untill you fit it and test it there's no way to tell. good luck
