I like your rig - I don't know if my Canon XTi has a remote control but that would be great for taking pics on the road ... now I sort of grab one of my compact cameras or my cell phone and try to point and shoot! It'd probably be real useful for recording the indiscretions of other drivers (careful here ... lest we hear/read "do as I say, not as I do"!).
I have a wireless remote on the D90 but haven't used it yet. I mostly use the video feature when the DSLR is mounted in the car.... but that's a great idea.

What if someone pulled out and hit you? That sounded dirty, but on such a narrow street, seems kinda dangerous. Ah well, sounds good, looks good.

I thought about that too but there is no danger to the driver and passenger, as the camera mount is mounted behind the headrest. The only real danger is in the rear passenger side seat, but I never have anybody back there anyways. In the rare instance I do have a rear passenger, I take it off. It's very simple to remove. I just remove 4 toggle bolts by hand and in the trunk it goes.

In the pictures the camera mount appear larger than it is. In reality is not much wider than the actual seat.

No sure yet whether I am flying to Texas or driving....going to figure that out next week. I am waiting on some friends to get back to me on whether or not they want to do a road trip. That was a long ride home going solo last time! but was nice to be on the open road with the 5!

Ill touch base with you in a week or two at the very latest, cause if I am flying I need to make my reservations soon, as its a busy travel weekend.
