hello everyone,
i took my old pre lci halogen headlights and tore them apart yesterday, separated the lens from the housing and am now going to see if i can build a set of nice custom headlights.
i was wondering if anyone knows if i can retrofit projectors into a halogen housing..
i've contacted umnitza and ask for their advice on projector product info, but wondering if anyone here has done something as obnoxious as i have. its essentially the most pointless headlight build since i'm starting with these boring pre lci halogens but if theres a will, theres a way, right?
i will need the projectors and the shrouds for this project...
with the way the proejectors fit, they seem to want to be secured to a flat backing of some sort which theses headlights do not have. all they do have are three pieces that protrude out so you can screw in the single piece (hi/lo beam) reflector. Three on the low side, and one on the high beam side.
i will upload the pictures when i get home from work tonight.
any advice you can give me, would be awesome.
thanks for your time!

I initially wanted to install a projector into my pre lci halogens, i even bought the projector with shroud ect but gave up half way. I believe there are allot of work and hassle involved so i decided to buy lci halogens and add umnitza v4,s and xenons. I bought the lights used but in very good condition for £185 and sold my pre lci's for £100... £85 for hassle free project.

go make friends with a couple of bodyshops that repair BMWs on a regular basis. Ask them to keep any broken HID headlight housings that still have the internals intact, maybe offer ten or twenty bucks per headlight. They'll reuse the undamaged ballasts and HID bulbs, but one's they've poached what they need the housings go right in the trash.

few cracks in the outter edge but the existing sealant holds it all together and i ended up fixing the cracks anways.
However, if i were to do it again, id start with a dremel and cut a few squre sections out of the plastic ring that seals in the headlight lens so i can break the seal with my putty knife/scraper and work my around.
if you do it, be patient and good luck!
