Has any one done this?
BMW sell a kit but does any one have the installation instructions or has done it.
The kit is about ?160 but my dealer wants over?700 all in - can it take that long?
How easy is it to DIY?
Thanks,

I am thinking about doing this for no logical reason at all, I will NEVER need it in California - but the kit is cheap. I have had my front bumper off and the installation looks like it would be pretty straight forward. I assume it will have some sort of 'T' to install on the washer fluid assembly, a pump that will no doubt go inline, wiring, the sprayers, and who knows if the car needs to be coded.
After looking at my reply I now think I should have not replied because I offered no help - but to me, I think if you can install stereo equipment, you should be able to figure this out, the principal of the system seems basic.

I retrofitted it.
Mechanically its very simple with just a few hours work.
Electrically the instructions are very poor and designed for LHD cars so any pictures regarding connections were worse than useless.
I eventually left the dealer to electrically connect it and from memory it needed to be activated by the dealer as well.

What did the dealer charge for the work they did?
Thanks,
David.
