Hi,my530i
My problem is my dealer in Taiwan can not find the item to recore my 523i for this function to make the paddle shifers working ....
If I still need to recore to make the paddle shifers working after use your kit ???

I am also trying to figure this one out. I was able to source a used paddle shift wheel with heating function and Lane departure option (same as mine) but couldnt figure out the connections at the back of the steering column switch control unit (aka slip ring control unit) as to which two pins to use in the 16pin connector on the back of it.

Also wondering why anyone hasnt tried yet to retrofit SAT option in xdrive E60 while it is an option in E90 xdrives, they both are same drive trains at the end.

Anyone has any insights on the wiring connection????

Yes sir... here's where I'm at as I am attempting to get this moving along as well:Before going into the how to and getting a ton of people telling me to use google, etc… I want to give credit to the forums I have gathered most of my information from:

AoshichanX, hugus311, miropm69:

https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/d...-guide.576444/

NoQuarter:

The only issue being that 90% is about the E9x not the E6x. At this moment I do NOT have the gear selector with the “Sport” button and will be doing that upgrade down the road. I currently ran into a great deal on the steering wheel with paddle shifters and want the paddles working. THAT is my goal… M Sport Steering wheel with WORKING paddle shifters.

Unlike what’s mentioned in the guides there are 4 wires coming from each of the paddle shifters and they are already wired up…. Brining me to the first question, is this wiring correct?

In this you can see the Multi Switch Connector that connects to the Clock Spring does not have any missing wiring for me to wire up the paddle shifters, etc…. they are already going to it in pin 4 & 6

The plug under the dash that goes to what I’m assuming IS the clock spring DOES have missing wires

Here is what I’ve obtained from wiring diagrams online for post 2007 builds *mine is a 11/2008 (so a 2009 535xi)

Numbers are their pin locations, color I see (in parenthesis is what the diagram showed color wise) and then what that wire is supposed to go to. Please note the image I was looking at was horrible and blurry.

With all of that my biggest question (aside from is the paddle wiring good) is do the pins in location 4 & 6 with the paddle signals going to the clock spring pair up with clock spring harness pins 12 & 13… how do I determine this?

After I figure that out I will continue with the DIY’s to the shifter and see if I can splice them in and get the results I’m looking for.

I just followed the wiring diagram from TIS and populated both wires from steering column to the relay/fuse box in engine bay. From there, the wires are already populated to the mechatronics unit.

For me the question is whether I can get the paddles to work without the sport shift module and if it does, what all modules needs to be default coded with 2TB option and what modules coding needs to be modified to get paddles to work.

Another question, why many users are connecting pin 13 of steering column connector to GND.

Could you please send the DIY per mail to me intel36a@gmail.com ? The SSG is connected to module located in the steeringwheel so i have to bypass the module and connect the right wires to the sleering

I have solved this problem and made my own guide for LCI see this link: https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/u...#post-13763001
