Has anyone install a Quad Exhaust on a 535i? If so which one?

I'm really considering a Quad exhaust for my 2008 535i.

I have the "typical" concerns like:

1. Exhaust Sound: Will it be too loud or perfectly raspy for our Sports LUXURY automobiles....

2. Fitment: Will it be a real bolt on process with little to none modification.

3. Warranty: Is there any QUAD exhaust that does NOT void warranty?

4. Cost: How much will this thing cost me. I wouldn't want to spend an arm and a leg to get this done.

5. Precedent: Has anyone DONE this before on a 535i? I wouldn't want to be the first. I've gone through the Guinea Pig's process before with my other cars and it is a PITA!

TIA!

No experience here on this end, but if you do a search several posters here and at bimmerfest.com have shown their modifications to quad. As I remember, it is <not> a straight bolt-on process, some mods necessary either at the fuel tank, battery compartment or both, I can't remember for sure.

I've research but have failed to find a 535i with a Quad set up....

The sound, mod process and cost must certainly be unique to the 535i engine...I'm sure there is a way to retrofit a 530i exhaust to the 535i but I was wondering whether someone had ALREADY done it.

1. Exhaust Sound: Sounds deep like a V8 but not too loud like a ricer. No rasp and droning. V8 sound on idle.

2. Fitment: Complete bolt on but the muffler on the right has to be custom mounted vertically.

3. Warranty: Warranty safe unless you go catless DPs that will affect your emissions and stock performance.

4. Cost: $899 shipped.

5. Precedent: Forum member macfly has the Remus quad setup. I've heard it over the weekend.

i have had one put on twice on my 530d, there is no problem what so ever as long as the right hand side exhaust box is small enough to fit in between the spare wheel slot and the battery pack slot, theres certainl enough space i would say, and the petrol should be the same aswell i presume,

heres a few pics

Hey I obviously missed that post during the weekend....

McFly that is indeed a GREAT set up! It's a Remus, right?

I like the subtle sound...these are Sports LUXURY cars....not race cars, unless you own an M5. I already have my Audi S4 with a very loud exhaust..

BTW, you have great taste in mods. At this time, my wallet is kinda sad so I'll wait a few weeks for the Quad exhaust.

On another note, the 15mm spacers arrived and are installed...pics will come soon.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Cheers!

thanks for the kind words.

yes, it is a Remus set up. i certainly preferred the subtle, but deep sound. this is my daily driver and i did not want to get too loud.

good luck!

Just saw that you are thinking about a KW V2 Suspension.....

I have that suspension on my Audi S4 right now and to be honest I'm not that happy. I think it's too soft and actually the car feels worse than with suspension it had (not OEM but Bilsteins with H&R springs) before.

If I were you I would research some more....

GL!
