Dear Forum,
Has anyone here at e60 gone from a 18 inch rim and tire, up to a 19 inch rim and tire on a 2004 e60? If so, what kind of problem, (if any), did you experienced in doing this change?
Thanks in advance....

I went from 18" 135 to 19" 172. Both OEM so no problems. What problems if any are you thinking of?
any wheel scrubbing?, the balancing and how is the ride compared to the 18?
Thanks in advance

Other threads on this forum seem to point to 20" wheels giving the sort of problems you describe.

19 inch wheels with trad tyres will ride and handle better than 18 inch runflats - so you can't go wrong.
Only problem I have found is that the tyres (275/30/r19) are not instantly available, so if you have a puncture that can't be repaired, you could be on the spacesaver for a couple of days or may need to switch brands to get going again.
Oh .... and forget about using an automated car wash, the wheel guides will either pinch your tyres or bugger the rims.

19 inch wheels are OEM and fit perfectly fine. I have them on my 04 e60.

No problems as long as you stay within BMW specs--for wheels and tires. If you do so, then the only differences are likely to be on the plus side. The ride may suffer a bit because of the lower profile tires--depending on what tires you currently have.
