I know I was just complaining about ebay stuff in another post, but I keep seeing these headers on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-06-BMW-5...8QQcmdZViewItem

This vendor had a 99.9% positive feedback. I bought some of the same headers for my Acura TL type-S with no problems and it added about 16whp on that car! That's substantial considering the headers only cost about $150 and I installed them myself. I wonder what kind of gains we would get for our cars (05 530i)?

Anyone?

No one has a comment on this? I did see one set sell last week and another yesterday. I was hoping that someone here had any feedback on fitment, gains, ease of installation...

I don't know what to say. My first impulse is to say how can any quality performance "tuned" headers be that cheap but then again, I think I bought headers for my Scirocco and Jetta 16V years ago for about that price and they were from a VW tuner.

Maybe I just want to criticize them because they're ridiculously cheap compared to the headers I just got. hahaha

I don't know may, I don't understand how the piece on the right is connected to the rest of the system. Most headers are 4-1 or 3-2-1 ending into a merge collector. It doesn't look that way with this system. I probably just don't know enough of the I6 engine.

The two pieces in the photo are laid out backwards... The short one is for the rear cylindars.
Looking at the header pipe on RealOEM it is actually two tubes of equal length that merge to one behind the cats. So the description of 6-2-1 is correct.

I actually had "ebay" headers on two of my past cars that were great with no issues. I had pretty significant gains on both those cars after installing them. I decided to install the ebay headers to both cars based on the success other people had on other forums I used to visit.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I don't want to be the guinea pig!

Any volunteers?
