Try putting it in DS, makes a world of difference - especially if there's any turns.

Why remap an old lady? An I6 is an I6. You're destined for street cruising and stealth-pimping, (looking fast but not being fast). Get some nice tips so it looks like V8 and don't upgrade your exhaust so they can hear what kind of engine you have. I've come to grips with this after the first week of owning my 530 and getting beat by some 1998 Pontiac off the line and nearly crying.
My BMW stands for "Beat My Wheel".
On a more positive note.... its definitely great at 50+ MPH. Big difference in accel.

Go w/ RPi/Powerchip ECU re-map to match up w/ their air intake scoop.

Has anyone DONE this yet, because I think that was Vlad's (and the rest of ours) question. I know RPI makes good stuff and fairly reasonable - price wise - however, while many here have their exhaust I haven't seen anyone with the ECU remap. And besides, what protection to the buyer do they offer for dealer remaps? It is a good mod with HP/$$ ratio, but if I have to buy it again and again the benefits are lost.

I have a ECU remap (Speed Innovation) and had the RPi scoop with RPi exhaust. According to Eloy and Joe, I gained about ~25 hp over stock. All ECU remaps are similar. In this dyno, there was no baseline dyno because my car was already ECU flashed and had the magnaflow exhaust. I gained more with the RPi exhaust over the magnaflow.
My experience: my car was much smoother and I saved a ton of gas. Besides that, it wasn't dramatic for me.

Thanks for the dyno result.
Since there is no baseline from stock, do you think that part of the 25 hp gain probably came from the loss with magnaflow?

Damn, Alpine, all this time I thought your car was a 545 or 550 Anyway, thanks for the info, maybe RPI will chime in with some dyno results from stock 530 and see what difference it makes. 25HP is a good gain for the $$$, and if it saves gas it pays for itself.
