Sorry I forgot you have to log on,
Here is a copy of the post:
I was looking through my fsw_psw and saw something called welcome lights. So I enabled it and when you unlock car now you can select any light (parking, high beam, brake ) to turn on when unlocking. Its cool because the lights turn on slowly and turn off slowly when you lock and unlock the car. Now when I unlock the car my Angel Eyes, rear license plate and tail lights turn on, (great feature at night)
I had to modify the following
WELCOME_LIGHT_ACTIVE
aktiv
you also have to make
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_0
aktiv
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_1
aktiv
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_2
aktiv
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_3
aktiv
I think these are for the different keys so my wife can turn off welcome light feature and I can leave them on.
You also have to enable which light you want to turn on so for high beam I made
WL_FL
soft_einschalten
soft means come on slowly and hart means come on fast.
my lma fsw_psw is attached.
I still have not figured out how to turn off my taillight error message. Does anyone know if cold check is for open circuit and hot check is for shorted circuit or is it the other way round. Thx

Tell us how to do this? I figured the NCS is a BMW programming option software interface, but where do we even get that? I can't even register at that website you linked us. Can you give us an invite code for it?

NCS is software to program different options for all BMW's. Its available on all the bittorrent websites do a search for bmw inpa or bmw sss. You also have to have a VAG-KKL OBD cable ($15) to talk to the car (for cars up to 2007) after 08 you need a different type of cable. On previous BMW's carsoft/pasoft etc made software to turn on these options but I haven't seen anything for E60's yet. If your ever driving through the Indianapolis area I can enable this for free, it takes less than a minute. I'm working on writing up a guide for this but haven't had the time recently.

If you go to www.bmwecu.org you can click on Register. I just got to the registration page and it seems to work although I didn't register.

Mike, I logged in there but can't find anything that related to 'send' invitation out ... I wonder if it needs Admin privilege ...

Where do you purchase the cable? I wonder there's an option to make the mirrors fold/un-fold via the remote ...
