It would be cool to have LEDs, and when the angel eyes start up it strobes from one corner to the other side and then stays on.

You can do this on a Regular non LCI E60 by doing coding some hidden options. Its not easy (nor hard after you do it the first time) but you use a BMW program called NCS to enable the welcome light option. You can pick and choose any light on the car you want to turn on and off while unlocking and you can also choose the ramp rate so you can do a soft turn on or a immediate on. The time the lights on matches the LED under the mirror. You can check out my post below to see which options in the LCM to turn on. This option already in the LCM software, I don't know why BMW didnt give users the option to enable it in PreLci models.

We cant read the post bud!!
Here is a copy of the post:
I was looking through my fsw_psw and saw something called welcome lights. So I enabled it and when you unlock car now you can select any light (parking, high beam, brake ) to turn on when unlocking. Its cool because the lights turn on slowly and turn off slowly when you lock and unlock the car. Now when I unlock the car my Angel Eyes, rear license plate and tail lights turn on, (great feature at night)
I had to modify the following
WELCOME_LIGHT_ACTIVE
aktiv
you also have to make
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_0
aktiv
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_1
aktiv
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_2
aktiv
WELCOMELIGHT_CKM_3
aktiv
I think these are for the different keys so my wife can turn off welcome light feature and I can leave them on.
You also have to enable which light you want to turn on so for high beam I made
WL_FL
soft_einschalten
soft means come on slowly and hart means come on fast.
my lma fsw_psw is attached.
I still have not figured out how to turn off my taillight error message. Does anyone know if cold check is for open circuit and hot check is for shorted circuit or is it the other way round. Thx
