I know one guy here in Finland who did this successfully. Some modding was necessary, of course. I'll ask if he can send me some photos of the result.

I asked the same here -- unfortunately a no-go with the LCI, but I believe Westcoast550 is going to have a crack at moddifying it and trying to fit to an LCI... that is if he really has ordered a new car (-- sorry WC, couldn't resist!)

It won't fit . I've got one that I purchased for my 07(preLCI) and I am picking up my new car today I've looked at it several ways and the design is not compatable, unless modified and even then I'm not sure it will work.....................we need to know what the LCI M5's are using ,I think they must be using the pre LCI trunk lids with the Finisher ..........or ??

I cannot believe this, no one modified trunk finisher to fit our cars?
I've heard people people making v8 out of v6 and v10 out of v8 on this board
I need some feedback before I start cutting into it

......don't do it ! The LCI M5s must be using the old trunks and the finisher. If you look closely at the bottom of the LCI trunk and then the bottom of the finisher the profiles are identical thus the finisher would need to sit on top on the " bottom edge" of the trunk...............I went thru the exact same exercise and concluded the best out come was to sell mine . I quite like the LCI trunk as is .... Good luck, if you start cutting pls post pics

Cheers
