I've an option to purchase a set of Hartge 19" Classics, 8.5" x 4. I read on their website that they can be fitted with Tire Pressure Monitor to link into the idrive - can anyone advise how this is done?

I thought the TPM just used rotational speed information from the ABS sensors...

The type or size of the wheels have no effect on BMW's indirect TPM system as long as you reset settings via the I-Drive. The sensors are built into the hubs not the wheels.

Hope this helps!

Don - you can confirm the above then, yip? I take it your TPM works ok, and there's nothing extra on the wheels themselves?

There is noting in the wheels. The sensor work with some kind of rotational sensor from the abs..or something like that. Once your wheels are install just reset your FTM via the Idrive..if don't remeber how..refer to your owners manual.

E60525d,

You TPM should work. All you need to do is reset it.
