That happened today coming back from the Hamptons, heading west. But I was able to plop the visor down enough and still hear my V1, should it start chirping. Fortunately, it didn't.

Put the V1 above the rearview mirror, on the passenger side. You get good view out both front and rear, the controls are easy to reach and see, and you can use BOTH sunvisors without affecting the detector.
