I finally got my CF Hamann Splitter in and wanted to know what the best way is to attach it - specifically what kind of fasteners. I was thinking of using rubber washers so I don't torque down the bolt or steel washer directly onto the CF to avoid cracking it. Any input (and pics) would be greatly appreciated!

Rubber washers are great, but I wasn't able to find any at my local Home Depot. Zinc washers will also work, which is what I ended up using. Use zinc bolts as well to prevent and avoid any rust issues. I also opted to get the lock washer. While no one has had any confirmed loosening of the mounting hardware, it doesn't hurt to go ahead and add one.

Here's what you can use:
  • (10) 5/16 diameter bolts (1.25" length, 1.0" might also work)
  • (20) 1/4 washers
  • (10) 5/16 lock ring
  • (10) 5/16 nuts

So, 107 views, 6 replies and only one of them were serious. Well thanks mrfva for the help and input, I really appreciate it. I really love this forum and the way everyone helps each other out, but some of you just have too much time on your hands.....

In fact go with 1.25" bolts (1" might be too short). Post pics once you have it installed. We''d love to see pics

Btw, you DON'T need glue. You'll just end up with a mess on your hands. If you want, you can also use double-sided tape as prep-work and alignment, prior to bolting it on.
