I will get the black 550 scoop very soon.

Sadly, although I want the RPI 550 exhaust more than any other mod, I just can't. I live in an apartment in Manhattan and have no place to store the OEM exhaust until my lease ends in 2012. I so so want it. The sound is absolutely unbelievable and the power gains are impressivem
store it in staten island.. doesnt take up that much space.. mine is sitting on the floor of my 2nd garage.. lol..just laying there..mr. twisty turny youll love it! i gotta come show you

I've been looking at RPI as wel.. just don't know what sections i want to do, and what setup..

Soo many decisions to make.. and pondering " Is exhaust the first mod beyond tint i want to do?"

Any opinions on BillyBoat for the e60M5?

Welcome to the forum! And I'll add to the 100% vote rate and say RPi!

I have it for my 545i and adds power and a nice growl. It is definitely not loud by any means. It just sounds like the v8 should come from the factory, and in your case, the I6 (at least I think it's inline). I got to ride in the RPi's shop M5 and that thing is a beast. My car at its loudest point sounds like their M5 at idle. Wow that car was sex on wheels...

Oh thanks for letting me know, I'll just go with dual then. I am into loud sounds but not with our cops you get a ticket if it's TOOO loud . As long as it's no more louder than an M5 then I'm ok with it
The 530 exhaust is MUCh quieter than the M5. The M5 and our Porsche system is the loudest of them all (m5 when combined with our headers).

This is why we DONT do quads.

1. There is a loss in performance when you split up the exhaust flow that far back. You are cooling the exhaust gas too much making the gas dense, slowing the velocity of flow. When you do that, youll lose performance.

2. modification of the car to fit a quad system.

3. Its costly to do it right.

I can assure you that NO ONE in this industry tests exhausts like we do for the BMW market. You wont find 220+ dyno pulls testing a simple bolt on exhaust.

I had the dinan on my m5, 8 hours later I put the RPi exhaust on. i did the exact same thing on my 535i. I had the Dinan free flow on for a couple of months and as soon as the RPi exhaust was available i put it on immediately.

I wish. My mother in law gives me big time grief for storing my winter set (or summer set in the winter) of wheels in her garage.

I do want to see your RPI exhaust. Time for a SI mini-meet.

Ha ha. If you can convince my mother in law to let me store my OEM exhaust for lease turn in I'll get it.

The RPI exhaust for the 550 is insane. I got the chance to hear Mel's yesterday and it is just sick. When you are driving the car at lower rpms, it literally sounds like a totally different car -- an animal unleashed. So much more aggressive and sporty than stock.
