For 2008 535i. I am comtemplating over the installation of H&R sport springs taken from 2006 530i. First off, would they fit? I know the 2008 5 seres has redesigned lighter suspension, but do not know if the srpings from pre-facelift would fit perfectly and if so, how is the ride in comparison to stocks ones?

Looking for performance improvements I know will be there, but how much of the ride quaility is compromised considering surface streets are full of dips and potholes!

Just switched from 18" run-flats to 20" 3-piece with Nitto NT555. If anyone has the H&R drop or has knowledge/experience, I'd very much appreciate your 2 cents.

TIA and Regards!

if you are worried about ride quality and performance spend the extra $ and get some KW V2 coilovers, you can adjust the ride height a stiffness to your liking...member MacFly has great pricing, shoot him a pm..and he's a socal member as well, so should be able to recc a good install shop for you

*hope you are enjoying the GIAC flash

first and foremost, the H&R from an '06 530i will not work. it may fit, but will not work properly since the weight distribution on our 535 is very much different from a 530. i know this from first hand experience. Tirerack tried selling me H&R springs, they "thought" a 530 fitment would also work on a 535...NOT! it was so low in the front, that my tire was literally tucked under the fender!lol save yourself the headache!

as Gene mentioned above, i am running on KW v2's....and i LOVE it! is one of my top 3 fav mod's. initially, i did not want to lower the car since i was on sport suspension already. but i met the "demons" on this site....and i took the plunge! couldn't be more happier. the ride is actually better than stock, if you can believe that. i have it set to 75% soft, cuz' i did not want a bouncy ride.

and here's the kicker....when i changed my suspension, my wife didn't even feel the difference from stock to the KW's! if you're married, that should speak volumes!

let me know if and when you're ready, i'll set you up with a great price and local install!

Thanks for the valuable feedback on the 530 springs. The ride seen in your gallery (sickening ), is that with the KW v2...doesn't look too low. Cheers.

KW v2 sounds very promising, but prob more than what i am ready to spend right now.

I certainly am every rush when there's a stretch of road. Even tempted an M5 yesterday, exceeding him/her at 30+ mph, but he/she didn't go for it.

thank you. yes, those pix are dropped on KW's v2. i wanted to lessen the gap after getting 20's, so i wasn't too low in those pix. but recently, with lower profile tires...i'm a tad bit lower.

no rush, let me know when you're ready.
