I have the same size tires as the op and had rubbing issues.
After installing the kw v2 coilovers I've never had a problem since.

255/35/20s in front and no rubbing except for large dips in high speeds. I don't have BMW sport suspension but slammed the standard setup some 30mm with Eibachs so I assume it would be similar to sports.

In the rear though (same setup) I tried spacing the wheels flush to the fenders but had to go back to original since tires almost got butchered. Rubbing all the time even @ very low speed and small bumps so I guess I have to roll fenders, get coilovers or simply live with the current sucky look...

Same setup here, even a little lower.

I have no rubbing at all.

Might be a wheel offset thing.

For 20 inch wheels, the recommended tire size is 245/30/20 in the front and 295/25/20 in the rear. Of course you can always go narrower on the widths, but ideally you should be on a 30 series in the front and 25 series in the rear.

If you want to avoid replacing tires, what I would recommend is to roll the front fenders and camber in the fronts a little bit and see if that is enough to to stop the rubbing. Sonic Motorsports can help you with that since we are in Mountain View, CA.

PM or call if you want to set up a time to come in!

Good luck with this!

+1 with Andy recommended for the sidewalls are 30 in front and 25 in the rear. a lot of people though, including myself, are running with sidewalls of 35 in front and 30 in the rear but with our fenders rolled/cut. we did face rubbing before because of aggressive offsets plus the tire sizes, and we usually recommend the thicker sidewalls for more rim protection, but the fenders will for sure need to be rolled and/or cut.

the more those fenders need to be rolled/cut when going with thicker sidewalls. or if you plan on slamming with coilovers or race springs with a dramatic drop, you can look at member alpinewhite's e60 for reference. he is running with the recommended tire sizes with sidewalls 30 in front and 25 in rear, aggressive offsets, and still needed to roll/cut his fenders.

If I had 245/30-20 (wheel 8,5"-9") and rear 285 or 295/25-20 (wheel 9,5"-10") and E60 with factory sport suspension, do I have to roll the fenders ? Of course it?s depending on ET?s but for example beyern mesh 8,5" front ET20 and rear 10" with ET25? Front should not be a problem, but rear.....????

running 245/35/20 fronts and 285/30/20 rear on h&r sport springs rubs like hell but i rolled the fronts and only rub on steep drive ways.rears would rub with 1 adult in the back till i rolled it and cut part of the rear inner bumper lip, sounds bad bad you cant really tell.i can have 2 adults in the back with no rubbing issues.
