If you have a black car, matte black looks a little strange.

But if you have a theme you are going for, then a matte black grill will be better than a gloss black.

Yeah I agree with umnitza for me my car is jet black and I think the matte would look a little strange just because of the contrast that it creates. I went with the gloss had it paint matched.

I like the contrast that matte black creates - it sets off the grill "just a bit" without too much separation. I felt gloss would make the grille bleed into the body a bit more - but that is a matter of personal taste.

when i had a black sapphire metallic e60 i went with the matte grills. they looked soooooooo sick.
