Are the LED Angel Eyes MUCH brighter than the GP Thunders? I just ordered my new X5 and have been doing all the mod ordering today. I'm doing all the lighting first, but I'm wondering about the Angel Eyes. A bunch of members on X5World have done the LED option, but were not aware of the GP Thunder option. I believe this has been discussed here before, so I'm coming back to you guys for an answer.
Are the LED Angel Eyes worth it? The difference in price is pretty substantial ($15 vs. $200).
Here are both products. I would assume they'll look the same, whether it's an E60 or an E70. My question now though is, are the LED's that much brighter?

C, the HID's AE's from this thread seem pretty bright vs GP's...and they are the same price as the LED one's you are looking at..

C, GP Thunder is the same as every other brand except for AIBs. Double check on what bulb the X5 uses which I believe is H8. get an H8 bulb with blue tints (the so-called XENON bulbs) or HID H8 conversion and you will have a killer angel eye system minus the LEDs tho. HIDs > LEDs anyday anyway.
1. GP Thunders
2. LED's
3. HID's

These folks put together a pretty good compilation:

Go with the LEDs, as blue as the GP Thunders are, nothing will match the xenon white output of an LED based unit. We have been happy with the RDash kits on our E92 and have them available for the E60 as well.

The Angel eyes will be brighter but for $20, u can get a high wattage blue tinted "xenon" halogen bulb, risk melting the connectors. LOL. Get an H8 HID conversion. Why go LED for $240 when HIDs cost u $150 and TONS brighter.

Are the HID's really that much brighter, when it comes to my Angel Eyes, than LED's? Since this light disperses into a set of plastic rings and not directly through a housing like the fogs or headlights, I'm wondering if the HID's are that much brighter.
