Thumbs up

Been looking around for Angel Eyes and came accross these GP Thunder H8 Angel Eye Bulb Replacements on ModBargains.

GP Thunder Angel Eye H8 Bulbs

I did a search on the forum and only found a few hits on this topic. Has anybody ever used these bulbs for AEs? How do they look in person? If so, what temperature do you recommend? I'm looking for more of a bluish illumination in order to match my Xenon OEM Headlights. 8500, 7500, and 3500K are available. Thanks guys!

those bulbs are only for the 2008 LCI e60's and up.

I believe in a previous posting of yours, you have a 2005 530i, so this bulb would not work. There are plenty of vendors here that can help you out with some angel eyes, ranging from $65 to $300 for angel eyes. Its all up to you.

Good luck and search a little more.

Thanks! Yes it is a 2005 530i; however, this caught my attention because it states it's for a 2004-2007 BMW 5 Series and not the LCI which is why I decided to ask if anybody has used these before. Hmmm...

H8 bulbs are for 2008+ models. I Believe 2004-2007 use H7 bulbs...so not sure why that site is incorrect with their info. I do have these bulbs installed, but I have a 2008 model.

They are a good choice if you want something easy and affordable. LEDs offer a better color but these will be brighter.

The 2004-2007 use H7 as the Highbeam/flashing light.

guys, a very stupid question but how many lamps do I have in my headlight?! it's so confusing, I asked several people so far... but I guess I'm headlight 'challenged'. I have xenon and that's all I know. I want to change my light bulbs but dont know what and which lamp I should look into changing. And how do you turn the angel eyes on alone without the middle light, when I look at my lights there's always the middle lamp on and I dont know how to turn the two circles on alone without any other lights..
its an upgrade i wanna do but don't know what I'm looking for, is that normal?

what bulb are you looking to change? Send me a PM with what you intend to change. From what I can deduce, you should have a pre-LCI e60 with factory bi-xenons.

If you have factory xenons, you have a pair of bulbs for the outer xenons (D1S), a pair for the inner lights (H7) and a pair for the angel eyes. The angel eyes use a specific fit module that we offer in LED based to change to a xenon white. For the inner lights, you need to have those programmed off by the dealer, tell them to turn off your Daytime Running Lights and that will disable them. The angel eyes are programmed only to come on with the parking lights so you unfortunately cannot get that programmed for the pre-08 models.
