Make sure you purchase the one from Radio Shack 50 ohm 10 watt one. I installed in my car and it worked great without any warning triangle. Here is the link: http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp...stor%2050%20ohm

I bought the same LEDs as you guys and the BEST resistors, 25W, aluminum cooling housing. 47 Ohms (there is no 50)

Installed everything but I still get the warning triangle. But sometimes not. Like 1 start out of 5 will not show a failure for one of the lamps. Bottom line: no good.

Restored everything to original. For those few minutes while installing the new LEDs looked GORGEUS. I really love the cool look. Really disappointing to put back the yellow ones.

Why is this?!?
Greg

ps. those plastic hinges are a real b*tch. I damaged the holes (for the screwdriver) badly. It can maybe take one or two installations then it breaks.

This is a great mod and really makes the rear at night look soooo much better. This should be standard lighting for bmw.

Is there a differance with the bulbs on ebay? They have from 8 led bulbs to 18 led bulbs that seem to be good in price? Anyone use those?

LED plate lights are the kind of mod I am looking for. It will make my black E61 just a tad more stylish without having to fear that it will look like a tuned car. Anyone in mainland Europe or UK who knows where to order them (and no risk of unwanted messages from the check-control)?

Buy OEM from BMW! Follow this thread: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=46735&hl=

I'm getting my shipment this week and working with a guy on the E90 forums to make an adapter so we don't need to splice any wires and use a resistor. I'll post a DIY thread when the project is completed testing.

Just do the resistor routine. coolguy has bad luck . Why go through the whole adapter routine. $1.99 for the resistors and $6/bulb. Buy a few extra and you never have to worry. I've only had one bulb flicker and that was after 8 months.
