The sound is the same, its not rough at all. But you hear a little bit more turbo noise now, but thats just slightly and only under full throttle.

@rollee:

Ofcourse an M5 is even more awesome, and still way faster. It's a total differen terrority. But here in Holland it is 132000 euro, and thats a bit too much to spend on a ride. <_<

In the states you can get an M5 for like 60000 euro lol.
Did you get stung by your insurance company for this "modification" or is it customary to not tell them - very hard to detect the mods unless the box under the bonnet is dismantled
Thinking of similar treat for my 530 but cant decide about telling the insurer and cant take a raised premium

Will the "roetfilter" still cope?? Do you get black smoke now under full acceleration?

yesterday i spoke to my dad. he didn't hold with the idea to do it on our E60. he said, the compression rate, injection performance, etc. would be different and the wearout would be higher, the compression is higher and the durability of the engine would be less.
is he right?

In princible YES. But I think that extra fun is worth. Because higher wear and tear will happend only when You use higher than original power.

Well the "roetfliter" will still work, but I assume if you drive it on the limit constantly the roetfilter will not be able to clean itself. So I only use the full power now and then, I don't feel the need to constantly push it either. On the german autobahn it was fun but sometimes you also drive 120 when its crowded on the roads.

No black smoke when it was standard, and no black smoke now under full acceleration. Wetterauer guys have done a great conversion, but ofcourse time will tell.
