I need to replace the front tires on my 545i sport. Has anyone used the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics? If so, what is your impression on handling - dry/wet, tire noise, and road feel? From the comparison result at Tire Rack, they appear to be pretty decent. I 'd appreciate your comments. Thanks

Search for posts by "Richard in NC" - I think I read he recently switched to them on his 08 550i and likes them alot. He tracks his car.

For the last couple of months I've been researching tires to replace the run flats on my 545i. I looked at Yokos, Contis, Toyos, Pirellis, Michelin Pilots, Bridgestone. I read every single review/customer feedback on only of the above the F1 Asymmetric came back with the highest Score/best rating. According the manufacture spec and all of the reviews this tire suppose to be the most quiet, better grip on wet/dry surface, good cornering and the longest thread life (~42000 km and still quiet) in comparison to the above. Go on TireRack and read the reviews. I'm ordering mine the end of the month front and back in 19".

Yes I do like the Asymmetrics a lot. Quiet, smooth, great dry, plenty good enough in wet, and they seem to be wearing well. Better than the Contis across the board.
The only possible issue is some scalloped edges and extra noise under hard track use. That's a common problem with a LOT of tires, so not unique to them.

Thanks guys. There are lots of reviews on the Tire Rack for different type cars, but not ours. I appreciate the feedback.

F1 Asymmetric are fantastic tires.
In the end, I had to pick between
performance : The F1's
Long Tread-ware: Vredestein UltraC Sessanta
Since I've put on over 15k in the last 6 months, I went with the Long treadware.
but trust me, you will be so happy with the F1's.
