A good radar detector?

My Ride: 09 M5 (E60) Interlagos blue, Silverstone interior, with cold weather package. Adaptive Xenon headlamps and adaptive brake lights, hud, comfort access. Comfort seats, basically fully loaded.

Anyone has any info on any good radar detectors. R they even legal in NYS? I want one if they are legal. Any good brands? Trust me its very easy to go over the speed limit behind that wheel. I dun even like to speed but i always find myself easily over 15-25 mph on the HUD. Any inputs are appreciated.

It's the only way to go for a windshield mount detector. Check out the tests at Guys of Lidar This is the only set of truly objective tests independent of any advertisers/supporters/agendas.

Is there a good radar with navigation with it, I have seen a couple but don't know if its good or not.

Personally, I would steer clear of that. Half of the navigation units I've used can even route properly, nevermind warn me of pending doom.
