I'm having it redone, the quality of vinyl is cheap so I'm going to Phenomenal Vinyl in Oceanside, L.I. I've seen their work, it's streamlined and looks like glass. Mine looks in between vinyl and matte, others like it but not impressive to me. It's either you're matte or gloss. I'm going in next week or two. There are other cheaper options but I'm not going to spare expense and have to do it again.

Looks great! My vinyl guy (Don Nguyen, prob see his work on this n other forums) says that the heat from the muffler will eventually be the demise other vinyl on a wrapped diffuser. Just FYI. I'm a previous owner of an E39 as well!

I wanted to go through Don myself but he's based in Cali and has no affiliates and/or suggestions for vinyl roofs on the East Coast. You Cali guys have all the modding resources lol

I had my roof redone and I went with Niel of NDVinyl in Staten Island, NY. My original was bubbled, scratched, warped, and a poor vinyl was used.


Niel didn't need to play with the vinyl much, knit picked every imperfection, and when you talk about a high quality vinyl and a master of his craft, Niel is the best. It is so perfectly done, it is night and day difference over my initial install. We have very minimal room for tucking (1/16") and he did it with relative ease. Install was still 3 hours for roof and roof trims.


If you are in the tri-state area and need a roof, whole car wrap/any wrapping, tints, do not hesitate to go to ND Vinyls in Staten Island. From an OCD guy, trust me. It mimics the glass now and he's a stand up guy.

Looks great!! I am really contemplating getting that done myself but with a deep sea blue idk if the difference will be noticeable enough or not.

From what I've seen the gloss wrap looks really nice at first until a little age, wear and tear sets in. The gloss starts to show a lot of scratching etc. Is there a material that will hold up better? What about the 3m DiNoc carbon fiber? I would think this would since it has a structured surface, but thats just my feeling.

My vinyl is Hexis, very good vinyl with qualities, in high gloss form, that mimics paint. It's actually thicker than 3M and has very minor hexagonal patterns so flexibility is top notch without ripping. I got the 101 from Neil. 3M is up there too though but anything is better than my initial install. Neil from NDS said it was the worst vinyl he'd ever seen put on a car. Quality of work was subpar as well. I agree with him and it may wear over time but I only hand wash myself so I can prolong the life a bit.

It looks so good, I might do the shadowline window trim to high gloss as well! Like the new F series trims, minor but tasteful detail.

Now I need your quad exhaust conversion!
