i honestly prefer my "ugly" shifter over the newer style one

...ofcourse when i do decide to change it it will be the ///M-less M5 shifter knob

in either case... they sell the retro-fit kit for the shifter u want

just go to their site and ull see it

I got a friend to source an used center trim from Europe. A new one cost $200-$400 depending on the wood trim that you have.

You will also ave to buy a new shifter baseplate. Thats about $140 from Garry@NewportBMW.

keep in mind that you will lose your asthray.

Right now im just waiting on Roger to finish doing some test fitting.

This is the trim that i got. I will be wrapping it.

Guys, I'm confused... the pics of the shifter(s) you're looking to retrofit are for LCI models (2008+) where they switched to a completely different shift-box configuration -- ie. both of the new shifters (one shown was standard auto, other was SAT option) are sitting on top of a control module in the console rather than just being a big switch.

How would it be possible to retrofit these, unless you are just cutting off the top of the shifter and jamming it onto the existing pre-LCI shift post (and rewiring for lights, etc.)?
