something that is personally meaningful to you...

You might also go for something that shows to the initiated, that you are a German "insider". The prefix in Hamburg is HH and there's a well known saying in Hamburg that goes "Hummel Hummel Mors Mors", or abbreviated, HH MM, which is a possible combination on a standard license plate in Hamburg and one I've been told that any self respecting Hamburger would kill to get their hands on. (google it on yahoo answers).

The prefix in Munchen, the birthplace of our belowed Bimmers, is simply M

So an M with any digit combination, especially one that signifies your model designation, would be kinda cool. I believe German plates typically have 5 or 6 digits/letters, in addition to the city designation, so fex an M 535IX or M550-I or something to that effect would be nice. I've seen plates in Germany with fewer numbers/digits but they look odd and I think it will be more authentic with more letters and digits.

@np0218 Where are you getting the german plate made.. I may consider one.. sounds like a pretty good idea with the birth place of Munich being on the front of it M.

I tried getting one before and I believe I was dealing with europlates.com, they took my money and I never received any product. Definitely try and buy from someone reputable. As for what to put on it, I personally don't like personalized license plates so my suggestion would be to get one that looks like a regular German plate that you would get if licensed in Germany.
