So winter is upon us and I've yet to change out my 19's and put my 18's with Blizzaks on. I'm wondering how long I can hold out for... Has anyone ever driven in snow with General Tires? I'm thinking that with my AWD, I still have a slight advantage over a RWD with these tires. Now, I'm not saying I plan on keeping these on all winter and pressing my luck, but I'm hoping to keep them on until at least the new year, barring no severe winter storms on the east coast.

What do people think? Should I wait or just do the swap?

Has you account been hijacked or do you miss RWB so you are now starting similar threads?? Put your winter setup on and stop this sillyness. You should erase this post before anyone else reads it.

I'd put the snows on, why tempt fate? Not worth it to slide around on a snowy/icey road just to "get to the new year"...

Can't wait to hear the story how you got stuck in the snow b/c a snowstorm hit suddenly and you still got the Generals on.

C, I drove with General UHP's on my old '04 Maxima, FWD, 18's...and they were great in the snow. I'd drive home late at night in 2 or 3 inches of the white stuff, and my car would plow ahead. They were better in the snow than the OEM all-season Goodyears.

That said, I'd still change those rims. You don't want that salt and grime sitting on your CSL's all winter, and those potholes are already popping up here in the 'Burgh. I hit one today that rattled my fillings and bottomed out my ride! I was glad I had my 17's on, or I'd be in the market for new 19's.

You can't compare a FWD car to a RWD car when driving in snow. RWD cars are the worst compared to everything else in snowy conditions. Better off being safe than sorry - put the winter wheels on.
