Great suggestions guys! I never thought leaving it near the ashtray or puting it in front the speedometer like you did in the last pic. I should have the Nuvi delivered by the end of the week. I guess I'll just play around with different mounting options.

thanks.

Quick question. It seems that the only difference between the Nuvi 350 and 360 is the blue tooth interface. I take it that the 360 has the advantage of connecting to your BT enabled phone. Since the E60 has BT - what have you guys with the 360 been doing?

You're correct. The only difference is the BT features (which the e60 already has). My only guess is that since the Nuvi can not only guide you to restaurants, hotels, etc.... that on the Nuvi 360 when the phone number pops up next to the listing on the screen, rather than physically having to enter in the number through your phone or through idrive, you can simply "click" the phone number and it dials...whereas the 350 you'll have to manually enter it on your cell phone/idrive. To me that's not worth the extra $$, but to each their own. I can barely justify a GPS as it is since 99% of the time I'm going to and from work or other local places I know how to get to with my eyes closed.

My other car (summer car) is a Honda s2000 and although I was on the fence between the 350/360 for the BT features (since the Honda doesn't really have ANY features) I decided to go with the Nuvi 350 since the BT features are likely worthless with the top down. I can barely hold a regular cell phone conversation with the top down much less a BT speakerphone call.

I have a Nuvi 350 and have mounted it using a ProClip attachment specifically made for the BMW 5-Series (see www.proclipusa.com - click vehicle mounts). It firmly attaches to the lower right hand side of the center console. You can see pictures of the mount on the website. It is a very clean look and the cable attachment goes directly from the back of the mount to the electrical input under the glove compartment. No hanging or visible wires and the unit runs on the car's power source. I highly recommend this approach. When I want to listen to music stored on the Nuvi, I run a cable under the passenger seat to the audio input behind the center console. also no wires visible.

HMC,

Is that a 350 or 360? Where do you have the AC adapter? In the ashtray?

very nice thx for the usefull info I am planning to dump my tt700bt and get the mio c710 with iGO.
I'm using since 2 days iGo with the old Mio 168. Very cool - like it a lot - very intuitive with a great user interface and map graphics. I have the Mio on the left of the windscreen and the power cable running across the dash. It's actually quite convenient and doesn't get in the way.

Its 350. There is no AC adaptor installed but you can connect to the power source under glove box.

I bought my wife one several months back.
Every now and then it has a problem acquiring satellites.
Well, a month ago it had the "issue" and she smashed it against the door .
Now the secreen is broken (I'll post pics later) and it doesn't display anything anymore.
Anyone know what - if anything - can be done with it, besides throw it out?

Man! The old lady sounds like she has a little bit of a mean streak! Poor Nuvi, never saw it coming hehe.
