Glad to hear the aFe CAI (aka POS) works well in cool weather conditions. Maybe aFe should state that in the description, "USE ONLY WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE".
Sorry to burst your bubble, I notice the same effect with the stock intake (no scoop).
BTW - My aFe CAI is for sale, if anyone is interested.

I tested both Stock Box and AFE in cold weather.. AFE is better in acceleration, torque and sound. Stock Box is better for Hot weather without doubts.

My Ride: A Car faster than yours.....
Its not that the car is actually making power. Its that you are actually losing less power when its colder outside. Your ecu is still going to map out according to tps %, iat, afr, etc. Your car has a thermostat on your cooling system. Its not going to allow overcooling or overheating. We all wake up eventually........well some of us do.

it is not about the engine. it is the cooler air entering into the intake. it is very different. Cooling system is for the engine. get me wrong please.
We are talking about the cold air entering the intake.
After I driving the car getting home several times. I open the hood to see if the status of the CAI, yeah very different than when I opened in the summer (that was pretty hot).

Funny...I felt the same on my car....it just pulls better on colder days, that is why i still have my so called...piece of shit...aFe still on the car. Plus I have the rpi installed...just for the additional "ram".
