This topic is amusing, over in the UK, all cars have to have front and rear plates, and come from the dealership that way.

If you were "missing" a plate, I would imagine it would take the local bobbies (cops), about 10 seconds to pick you up on it. Not because it's missing, but more likely as the cameras over here then wouldn't be able to fine you for (speeding, car tax avoidance, insurance checks, mot checks etc etc etc).

Oh, and you'd also get a ?30 fine to get it fixed I expect!

Basically, it's really not an option over here.

In Florida, the state only gives you 1 plate at the DMV... and it must go on rear.

That's fine by me, because front plates are fugly.
They totally ruin the clean look of the car.

I rest my case.

I agree and, like you, am lucky enough to live in a state that only requires one (rear) plate...

you guy in US are very lucky not to have a plate at the front, I wish I can do that in UK & HK.
I like car with no number plate at the front it looks much nicer and clean.

In Nevada, if your car has a mounting bracket on the front you need a plate. If no mounting bracket then you do not have to fasten a plate to the bumper.

This does not apply to all the states in US. Massachusetts needs 2 plates (front and back).

The Garden State requires two plates. More work for the inmates I guess.
