brought my car last week to get my oil top off and the dealer notice that my front license plate is mounted on the lower grill area. The dealer tells me thats im blocking air coming in to cool the radiator?? I wanted to ask if this is really doing harm to my engine?
i figuered with all the air coming in through the kindney grills, this would of been enough to cool the radiator?

Well the dealer is right, you are blocking air to the radiator. As per long term effects I can't tell u if it will do any harm. If I were you I would play it safe and mount my license plate in the tow hook slot (outta the way and no drilling at all)

I mounted my license plate in the middle of my front bumper (M Style replica) under the grills and it looks pretty good. I used a black license plate mounting kit and the mount is attached to the bumper and the license plate attachés to the mount.

I know of 2 other sources for these types of license plate attachments:
www.rhoplate.com/index.html (looks to be highly adjustable to any bumper angle)
www.bavauto.com (must navigate to department: gifts, clothing & books, then license plate frames, down to License Plate Relocator (part # 65-0000))
I haven't purchased either of these, so I cannot vouch for the products.
I have purchased other things from Bavarian Auto and they are quite good.
Whatever you get, let us know what you think.

here's another option---- not a retractable plate, but one at least where the plate height can be adjusted.
More importantly, the mounting is not on the front of the bumper, but tucked underneath so that there are no visible holes whenever you decide to take off the plate.
Also, you can decide how much your plate covers the lower grill---- which was your original issue.
