Just wondering how many people have noticed the differences in the area around the kidney grills between LCI and pre-LCI/replicas? I had a discussion today about them and felt as if very few people have noticed the differences. I have only seen one replica that had the look of the LCI grill. Anyway, here's some pics from the forum, thanks to the members whose pics I used. Also once again for Simon, I knew I was right!!

Yes, but that wasn't the particular point of where the difference is. The point is where beneath the grill opening, the difference there is not really noticed by many people. I had no clue of what ETNav was talking about until he pointed it out to me on a LCI car. And actually, even the stock LCI car's part beneath the grill is like that as well (different than pre-LCI).

I know the styles are different, I was pointing out just the area around the kidney grills. From my observations most replicas have that area like the first pic. The only replica I have seen that has the look of the LCI kidney grill area is the one from DDM Tuning.

The replica from DDM tuning is a OEM mtech replica. Not a M5tech / M5 Rep...

I think you're comparing apples to oranges. M5 front bumper is different to from MTech bumper not just in the "mouth" opening, but also the kidney grill area. Compare your M5Tech rep Pre-LCI picture to an actual LCI M5 bumper kidney area here: They look similar

It looks like the LCI M5 kidney grill area looks like the kidney grill area of a standard Pre-LCI bumper.
That kidney separation you're referring to is mostly seen between Pre-LCI standard bumpers and LCI standard bumpers. Not necessarily on Mtech.

Actually balbs, you're both correct.
The LCI M5's grille part is not the same as LCI stock or Mtech's. And yes, what you pointed out is correct as well, the LCI M5's grille part is same as pre-LCI.
So basically for the LCI, the M5's the anomaly.

I would like to see an apples comparison of the MTech bumpers from Umnitza, DDM Tuning, and OEM Mtech. As far as I know the only difference between LCI and Pre-LCI of the MTech bumpers is the size of the PDC holes.
Also, as far as I know there are a couple of members here that bought the Umnitza Mtech version but both eventually switched to the OEM version. I PM'd one of them and he says that it looks the same as OEM, "but if I were you, I'd just get OEM". He didn't elaborate more on it.
