I got the front cover replaced. The old one is sitting in a box, waiting for me to put it up for sale when I find some time.
I may be willing to partake that offer, but I don't want to insult or offend you with an unreasonable price point. How much are you looking to sell the damaged bumper for? It looks bad but I think I may have the resources to repair it.

Would $250 plus shipping be too much of an insult?

Yeah, I think I had to ship a set of bumpers once for my (now my mechanic's) 323ci and it was like $100 for ground. That's why I only offered $250...I'm on a tight leash from the missus on auto expenditures. Anything over $350 will require authorization.

I think it will be more than a $100 for shipping. I was quoted $300 for the whole kit, but skirts are nothing so its mostly the bumpers.

Actually it sounds about right. When I bought my E46 aerokit the front bumper wasn't available so I had to have it shipped, the rear bumper piece and side skirts were all picked up locally so I saved a bundle there. I think UPS ground charged a flat $100 per package for these oversized packages or something.

So the m-tech bumper is lower than the stock front bumber??
I know I'm going against the grain here but I'm going to say no. The M Tech front bumper is just as low as stock. Just because you hit a driveway or curb witht he M Tech doesn't mean you wouldn't with the stock. Maybe we can get some empirical numbers here from people with stock and M Tech fronts (post standard suspension or sport suspension). FWIW, I can actuallly clear curbs with my sport E60 with M Tech that would scrape with my sport E39 with stock front.

I don't mind letting it go for cheap as long as it is the right part for you. I just don't like the thought of it ended up in a landfill.

The piece available is the nose cap skin only, that is #1 in the diagram. It has 4 holes cut out for park distance control. It does not include any of the grill, trim, hardware pieces, etc. (they were all reused) so you still need a lot of other pieces if you want to use it for an M-Tech conversion.

My piece is best suit for someone who already has an M-Tech aero kit and wants to experiment with customizing it. The shipping box is huge - size of a kitchen fridge!

I have several trim pieces for the M kit - some of the ducts, foglights, few trim pieces that you can have if you decide to get Blah's cover. Let me know.

Well, I did not measure the height of the original bumper, so I can't really compare it with the M Tech bumper if I measure it now. I think the most accurate comparison would be if it's measured on the same car before and after the M Kit conversion.

I can tell you for sure that the M Tech bumper's bottom is lower than the stock because I drive into and out of the same driveways and parking spots now as I did before the M Tech conversion, yet back then I had no scraping and rubbing issues but now I do.

That was my understanding...That there'll be various pieces I'd have to purchase separately. I have good working relations with a local BMW dealership and should be able to source those other parts cheap. Let me know if my offer is reasonable and when I pick up my mother-in-law's black 545i we'll close the transaction?
