Default Front Brakes

It's time for me to get my front brakes serviced and I'm looking for some advice. I would like to purchase some slotted and drilled rotors with an OEM fit for my 2005 e60. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does it make sense to do this or should I stick with OEM rotors and pads?

Will there be any issues if I make the switch to slotted and drilled rotors?

A friend of mine recently purchased a set of the drilled rotors and it wasn't long until he started having a warped condition that could be felt in the steering wheel. He bought mid priced rotors, so not the real cheap ones. He also found out that he couldn't get them turned so he chuncked them and purchased oem rotors. all was ok. later he found out that it is possible to turn them if they have the right equipment. Not sure about that one though...

Are you racing or tracking? Why would you want them? IMOP, I think it looks rather strange with one set drilled and the other not. When all of them are drilled it looks nice though.

No problems here. When I had to replace my front pads I decided to replace all four OEM rotors with CD/S, along with new pads all around (non OEM). Never regretted it. I wouldn't recommend just two up front for reasons previously mentioned but, that's your call. Regarding turning of the rotors, yes you can have them turned but most places won't do it and very few will. You just have to find them.

Thanks for the advice, I'll just stick with OEM.

Just replaced all four corners with Zimmerman Discs and Textar pads.

Only ~500 miles on them, but they have great bite. They do exhibit some noise @ slower speeds, but think they are still 'breaking in'.

If you're looking to stick with solid discs and OEM-like pads, go over to AutohausAZ -- really cheap and free/fast shipping.

FYI - don't forgot to buy the 'wear sensors' (~$15).

Havnt done it on my 5'er but on my Volvo S60R I replaced all with rotors from Premium Dimpled and Slotted Brake Rotors. That's brakeperformance.com.

They were great and I never had any issues.
