Hi all..

I purchased these rims from a guy 2 days ago all was good on the outside but yea,, i was careless and didn't check the other side.

This is what I found...

is this a safety issue?

How much would it cost to fix? (If i could)

 

First of all, I wouldn't be so quick to blame the seller, as something like this can happen in one unlucky pothole. Hopefully though, these wheels are tough enough to handle the potholes.

Now, as far as "is it fixable?" - absolutely. This is a very easy fix for a professional wheel fix shop - there are lots of them out there, so you should try and find one locally. Search for shops with good reputation, as bad shops do bad jobs - I've had one of my OEM wheels repaired by a dingbat shop once and regretted every second of it - they overcharged me, did a piss-poor job of fixing the crack, the weld was visible and very coarse, balancing was off and it cracked again in that same spot after a couple of months. Not to mention that they charged about 1.5 times what a professional shop charged me to fix that same wheel later - and after that, I've had no ensuing issues. As a matter of fact, the wheel looked like it was brand new when I got it back - and that's how a good shop should return your wheel after it's fixed.

around how much is it to fix? Though I know it really depends on the severity as well as rim size , ect.

But this is just wheel straightening(if i'm correct), roughly how much would it be to fix one 2-pc 20"?

 

Not sure about the cost of 2pc 20s, but I had my 1pc 18's fixed for 125-150/wheel. I think it may be more now - haven't done it in a while. Either way, it should be under 200USD. With a 2pc you can also swap out the barrel, which should be about 300-400 at most, but more likely about 180-250.

I had two of my 3-Piece forged wheels fixed due to a monster pothole here in Metro Detroit. There is a super reputable shop here where i got them fixed. the price was only $75 per wheel....mostly because they deal in bulk. our roads here are horrible so there is a STEADY stream of people coming thru their door.

honestly, i wouldnt worry about it though. it looks like a small bend for now and if you arent noticing any wobbling issues or imbalance....leave them on until snow fall and you revert back to your stock wheels. I recommend this route bc they usually need the wheel for a day or two to make the repair...

Is the only way to fix by heat? Lots are saying heat decrease the durability after the fix..

I think i did notice wobbling after i installed these wheels, only at certain speed though, around 35-40mph i think. then after that or before that, i don't notice anything.

 

What kind of wheels are these, where did you get them?
