Thumbs down

Guys, I need urgent help - I found a set of used 20 inch wheels from an e65 7 series. I have an '06 530xi w sport pk, does anyone know if these will work:

The reason I'm in a hurry to decide here is bc the guy's basically preparing to ship them abroad, unless I take them today-tomorrow. He got them from a customer as payment and has no space to keep them... or so he says - either way the price is unbeatable.

I couldn't get any offset information from the back of them, but the fronts are 9 and back are 10 inches wide, tires are 245 and 275, respectively. Tires are shot, so I'll need new ones anyway, so the profile is workable.

I doubt it'll fit since you have a XI model

-you think staggered won't wokr on an xi no matter what, huh? errr... I'll still try it - can't beat the price - 500 bucks!!! For OEM twenties! And I love the design - sort of looks like Alpina

Yep, so far I have two responses: one from my SA, who said "...because I'm BMW, I cannot recommend that you put anything other than what the car came with..." (pretty much meaningless), though he did say that it might rub while turning. And the second from the shop that installed a lip for me - they think it will not work, because it will stick out. He also said that they might trip out some sensors, like ABS and speed - is that true? Those of you who have 20s and bigger rims, do you get errors from bigger wheels?

Anyway, I'm not giving up! Can someone please walk me through what I should do to make sure the rims fit? I know that I have to have a matching bolt pattern and offset. Offset is somewhat flexible, as I understand - as long as it doesn't rub, basically. I can go and have the shop mount the rims and see if they'll fit the bolt pattern and clear internals. But the tires on the rims are from a 745, so they'll definitely rub, but how do I ensure that with the proper tires these rims do not cause problems?

And is that too many questions? LOL

Thanks, y'all!

Due to the high offsets that the XI models demand, they will not fit. It's not a matter of staggered, as I had staggered on my old 530xi. It's all about the offsets. That's the key.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Here is your answer:

Use 8" and ET43 as your stock specs against the specs on the Radial 32 offsets off the first link.

Read this post that I JUST posted in another thread. Although this pertains to a XI wagon, it should still give you the information you need.

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=828192

If you want wheels for a XI SEDAN, look at 3 series wheels. The 3 series comes with a high offset, similar to that of the E60 XI. Find a pattern/design you like. Find out the widths and offsets. Look for something around ET35 and higher.

Any questions, let me know.

They are style 132's IIRC , had some on my E34, mine were only 18's tho, back to 5 spokes now hahaha wish I kept them, they woulda suited the E60

They're the Radial 32's, not 132's.
