hi guys, i'm sorry but i have to ask this question again. does anyone know how to change the fog light light bulbs on a e60? i just bought a pair of piaa 4700k bulbs but don't know how to change them. i changed all the bulbs myself on my e39 before and it was very simple. in fact, they are quite similar but a little different. i took out the plastic screws but couldn't pull out the brackets (the one that holding the foglights). i called the service dept but they said they can't tell me the instructions due to some liability issues. then i called my salesperson and he said since the car is too new, no one really knows how to change them. they have to take a look at the car and replace them for me...with a $99/hour labor charge ! i think it's ridiculous! i can't wait to put them in, take some pics, and post them here. thank you in advance for your help .
Hi Aloha,

What is the model/size of the PIAA 4700 for the E60, I want to get some for my ride.

Cheers
T.

dba1t, great job! very well done! thank you very much for posting the pics. it helps a lot. however, i have one simple question. how did you remove the corner splash shields? i was having a very hard time to depress the plastic tabs. i didn't want to force it cuz they looked quite fragile. i didn't want to break them. i only saw the tabs on driver's side, are they on the passenger side as well (maybe i'm half blind)? did you jack up the car? how long did it take for the whole installation? oh, i've noticed you have a chrome grille. do you have a 545i or 530i but installed the grille later? anyway, your car is now completed. congrats! i really appreciate your post .

tubbee, i ordered piaa xtreme force 4700k hb bulbs. model number h259. i was wondering about the bulb size before i ordered cuz it says hb and didn't say hb3 or hb4. but the guy that i ordered from told me this pair of bulbs will fit both hb3 (9005) or hb4 (9006). our foglight bulb size is hb4/9006. good luck.

Alohalc, The installation took approximately 1-hour. Now familiar with the process, I could do the installation in 30-minutes or less. Jacking the vehicle is not required, but helpful if you need more space. The passenger side has two plastic tabs on the bottom of the splash guard. Press gently and the splash guard will drop into your hands. The driver side has one tab located above the splash guard. Taking the same approach, gentle pressure on the tab will release the splash shield. Considering the tabs are black on black, you may want to use a shop light or flash light to see them better.

The vehicle is a 545i Sport (February build, March delivery), Titanium Silver with Auburn Leather (special order), all options with the exception HUD and ACC, and a full Stongard kit. I have included a photo below. The vehicle in the background is my wife's '98 528i Sport.
