Hey Guys

OK, SO HERE'S THE QUESTION AS I'M CONFUSED!!!

I've read several forums regarding replacing the OEM forlights with aftermarket ones to MATCH the white colors of the xenon lights. I'm not looking into getting anything in higher wattage or even brighter for that matter, just trying to replace mine with the same color hue of white to my exnons. I know ALOT of people have put in PIAA 9006 (HB4 is what the japanese models are called) xtreme white 4150k (color) or I've even see people put in 4700k (color).

ANYWAYS, I'm leaning toward the 4150k as the OEM xenons are actually 4200k. SO Vendors have been telling me that these PIAA will NOT work since my size is a H8 and the ones I'm looking at are size H4? Whats going on? How are you guys doing it?

I'm NOT 100% about the PIAA and will opt for slightly cheaper bulbs if available....please let me know.

thanks your GUYS!!! THIS SITE ROCKS!!!!

Gene

A company called Hoen makes light bulbs as well, I used it on my e46, looks pretty good. I think it is www.hoen-usa.com/gto.htm. Check those....

be assured that your foglight bulbs are 9006/HB4, and nothing else. My opinion, use 4700K from PIAA. Dont buy cheaper bulbs from ebay or else since it will burns out in just a few weeks.

for me, 4700K is still to yellowish compared to the xenon. If you look from the distance, my fogs still look yellowish. but few members here like to use 4150K. It's just a matter of taste .

I know and thats what I've been reading, BUT why does everyone I called including BMW tell me that the bulb size is H8 and that the HB4 WILL NOT WORK....even called PIAA direct.

Man this is SO confusing, I'm about to TRUST this forum and just buy PIAA HB4 4150k.

OH, YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT. They read it as H8 and not HB. I just leanred that it's easier to doa search for 9006 vs. H4B. Anyways, cheapest deal I found for
IAA 9006 Xtreme White Bulbs 12V 55W=110w /Product ID: PIAA-X-HB /4150K *Pair*

for $79.95 with free shipping at
http://www.image-racing.com/xwsb.html

What do you guys think?

Here's a thread with my install info--I used PIAA Xtreme White 4,150K bulbs since they are the closest color match to the 4,200K BMW xenons:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=7232

I got them on eBay--here's the seller's email address:
