Are you sure your 2004 530 had the bi xenon option? Could be they were the standard halogen headlights, which aren't that bright.
I think it has bi xenons cuz its pretty white..
So i should get the lower K lights so it would be brighter?
But doesnt that means the light would look like old original yellow lights?

Hi,
Just wondering about the wattage of the bulb. for the foglights, several bulbs has 55 W --> 110 W output. I asked my dealer and they told me that our car is 51 W (foglights).
Is it okay to use the 55 W? I'm afraid it will damage or melt the lens.
by the way, I saw stream and alohac use the 4700K 55W-->110W bulb before. Is it safe?

I had used 80W bulbs on my Acura MDX which called for 55W and never had a problem although I'm not making a guarantee for everyone else. I'm pretty sure 4 additional watts is not going to hurt anything.
m5lover,
Yes, the lower the kelvin temp, the yellower the light output. It goes from yellow to white to blue to purple as you go up the kelvin scale.

The BMW fogs are 51W (only car I've seen that in), but I can't imagine <10% wattage increase will be a problem.
Here's a site that sells the PIAA 4150K bulbs, but they're expensive--I paid around $50 on eBay:

You guys can send an email to yoshi113ca@hotmail.com. That's the contact Stream gave me. Yoshi said I can forward his info. I got the bulbs from him for $54.98 including shipping and insurance. That's for shipping from Japan to my place in California so it could be a bit more or less depending on your location.

Thanks for the replies guys!!! You are the best.
Finally I decide to get 4700k PIAA. Exactly like alohac and EBMCS03. Will post pic once I put it on. by the way, for you who still affraid about DIY for foglights, let me tell you if I can do it you guys should be able to do it too. It was very easyyy and can be done in a matter of minutes. I just tried it yesterday with Stream's direction on DIY section. They are really great !! thanks a lot stream!
