Hi there. I'm going to receive my 525i/04 this week, and just purchased a very inexpensive FM transmitter, blocked on 107.9, for 10 Euros! I've read lot of comments on the dealer website saying this was much better than all the branded one's (monster, griffin, belkin...). I have one small concern, which I might test in few days, but still want to know more: is 107.9 easily captured by the iDrive system? Anyone using transmitter? Any issue with background annoying noise when driving (increasing when increasing speed for instance)?
Cheers

We use those FM transmitters with iPods here in Kosovo when we are patrolling.. But I certainly wouldn't ever use one in my BMW: sound quality is so crappy (a lot worse than normal FM radio, of course depending on the transmitter). Another problem these transmitters have is that they often transmit so weakly you can hear local FM channel on the backround / interfering with the signal. I would recommend CDs or some other solution where you could hook your iPod directly to the amplifier (AUX in). I'm quite positive you can find more info about these solutions with search.
