I have 2 little ones that ride in the back seat from time to time so DVD entertainment was a must. I made a little unit that sits on the center console and utilizes a portable dvd player. It's a perfect viewing distance for them and it doesn't get in the way of my rearview mirror and the location allows me to easily load different dvds throughout the trip.
If interested I can post some pics later when I get home.
Good luck ~Case

I have driven a car with that flip down monitor before and I was shocked at how much the rearview mirror was obstructed!! I think they make it unsafe to drive the car myself!

I believe you will have to look into the headrest monitors rather then the flip down due to the location of the sunroof and rear map light console I don't think there is any room to mount a flip down. tyr looking into the oem bmw headrest monitors for the X5's those might work.

I was looking into headrest monitors but I was going to use them rarely,so decided not to get
I was at the BMW dealership the other day and I noticed that they had a headrest display with DVD player that can be a added option. Maybe that can be an option for you.

I think flip downs look tacky unless its a van or a suv. not for coupes or sedans..
Headrest monitors would look 100 times better
