Hi All,

Just registered on this excellent board.

About to collect my 535d Sport next Thursday and planning on a few upgrades prior to collection.

Just wanted to check if anyone has tried fitting the 545 chrome grill slats on to a car with the standard grill ?

I will need to upgrade the audio - speakers, amp, etc next

Regards
Prashan

Welcome aboard fellow 535d driver...

Most if not all of the information you require will be posted already - search and you should find... if not feel free to ask away..

Incidentally, what colour is your 535d?

Welcome I've got a 535d and I changed mine myself - took about 5 minutes in all but it is a pain to release some of the clips

Looks far better btw

Hi collegue. I note there are more and more 535d fellows on the forum and this model is getting more and more attention (like the 545i in USA): should we start a "subforum"?

Back to the grills, there is no hope to change them without breaking some clips of the original ones, so I suggest to break them all and you should be able to change the grills in a 5 minutes matter. In any case, everything is well described in some old post in the DIY section, with pictures and everything.

Enjoy your car!

Thanks all for the welcome and advice.
Car arrives this Thursday - will post some pics.

Have gone for a very simple spec:
Carbon Black, Standard cloth/nappy leather, Visibility Pack, 6CD, Folding Mirrors and Sun Protection Glass. Wish I'd ordered the 19" alloys now - didn't know what they looked like until I joined this board...

Regards

IMU

Hi - thanks for the welcome - colour is Carbon Black.

Did you ask a dealer to fit your Aux Input ? Be grateful if you can share details, cost - my dealer is quoting c?300 to ?400 to install due to labour.

Regards
Prashan
