When i found that the 550i have the same brake system as the 535d, i ordered from stoptech their st2 for the 550i and while i was waiting i painted the callipers in black. When i received the kit and was mounting the front rotors/pads i realized that this didn't fit. I contacted Stoptech and they told me that US 550i and Euro 550i have different brake systems at the front. I asked a refund claiming that, as a worldwide seller they must inform a european buyer for that fact, before and not after buying their products. So i still have the parts getting dust in the garage and a big hole in the wallet because Stoptech didn?t wanted to refund or even discount the value of this parts in a BBK.

As i liked the slotted look at the rear...

... and as the M5 brakes only have drilled rotors, i started looking in the aftermarket parts. I bought this for a bit less than $2000 (the same as for a used M5 calliper with new rotors and pads):

It is floating 356x32mm rotors with 8 pistons calliper. About the power brake, i already break in the brakes i think that it brakes as good as my 997 Turbo.

That looks incredible and probably useful to have that braking power with all the power mods you've done

Good luck getting the refund issue sorted.

I assume in your part of the world you don't need to worry about fitting a smaller winter wheel set-up over the BBK
