Is the shift point only after 5k? Or is the upshift after 5k becaue you are shifting later? I don't have SMG and am thinking a 5k shift point with an automatic tranny would be too harsh on some occasions (eg driving through a parking lot or school zone...)

Steve Dinan is giving a presentation at my dealer on Thursday which I was very much looking forward too, but wouldn't you know it, One of my boys school christmas show is the same day. It was a search for "dinan" which led me to your original post.

I exaggerated a bit on shifting but yeah, everytime I stopped at the traffic light, i go vroom vroom
And for the auto tranny, I'm not sure. I guess there's should be more wear and tear and more expensive to fix it when somthing goes wrong. Usually with MT, aggressive driving means new clutch sooner. So I expect to replace my clutch sooner than people who drives gently.

I change my engine oil every 5k miles and mix with lubro moly Engine Protect which reduces engine friction, smoothness, etc(check on bavauto.com).
Plus I change MT fluid every 30k miles. I basically follow the old school maintenance. So I really don't feel sorry for occasional high revving.

P.S I drive cars gently 90% of the time. After purchased my car since October 2004, I have put 44k miles so far and I believe I redlined the engine more past few week(after dinan parts installed) than my entire ownership so far(before installing mods).
