I usually get around 23.6MPG(60% highway, 40% city). I used to drive very gently most of time w/o dinan mods.
Now(2 tanks of gas so far) i only getting 18.7MPG.
*BUT* it's only been couple days since I got all these mods, so I tend to find every opportunity to hear my engine and exhaust.
I'm sure I won't notice any significant changes in MPG if I go back to my normal driving style.

I'll let you know after few more weeks. But for now, i'm driving like I stole it

So far you are the only guy I've found who has done everything I'm going to be doing.

How's it sound? (a clip would be awesome...there aren't any of the Dinan exhaust on a 545i on YouTube....trust me)
What's your "seat of the pants" assessment of the mods?
Is the throttle response "greatly" improved?
How many hours did they charge you for everything?
Any fault codes show up?
LAST QUESTION.....How do you know that you have the DINAN Stage 3 S/W? Is there somewhere where you can check in iDrive or do you simply "trust" that your dealer installed it?

I had most of the power mods (CAI, software, TB, exhaust) on my old Dinan 550. Steve Dinan used my car for a couple months for R&D research in 2007. He took my car out on many runs and said that my Dinan 550 could match the performance of a stock E39 M5 ... if only it had a 3.45 differential. Regardless, I was happy with 390 hp. Until the day I scratched my M5 itch.

I had all the Dinan performance mods on my 545 as well (TB, CAI, Exhaust, Stage 3 software) and loved it. I really liked the mellow deep tone of the exhaust. I'm not a fan of loud exhausts so it was perfect for me. Throttle response was definitely crisper. No fault codes.

As for looking up the Dinan software, you can't do that in iDrive. Technically it's supposed to be untraceable but I know Dinan puts a sticker by the OBD port so dealers know that their software is installed on the car and if a software upgrade is done, and that dealer is a Dinan dealer, they would need to reflash the car.

Pretty much EuroCarFan covered everything but I'll give my opinions as well.

As for the sound, it sounds just about perfect. My wife hates loud car but she loves the sound of my new exhaust.

My "seat of the pants" tells me I can run for its money with stock e39 M5. That's why I asked if someone raced an e39 M5 with the mods I have done on 545i. I'm not saying I can beat e39 M5, but it FEELS like about just as quick(I drove e39 M5 about 1000 miles. My friend bought a used not long ago from NY and we are located in AZ so we had 2k plus miles driving back). I'll let you know for sure once I have a little go with my friend's e39 M5.

As for the throttle response, it feels like I installed a sprint booster on stock 545i. I think that's the best description I can give to you. Very good throttle response(it's mainly due to stage 3 software from what I have been told).

As for the pricing, I got a quoted from dinan authorized dealers(not BMW dealer, my dealer doesn't carry dinan parts) $450 plus software. I called one of independent mechanic and quoted me $150 for CAI, throttle body and exhaust installation. He finished everything in 2 hours at $75/hr rate. Then I took my car to dinan authorized dealer to have stage 3 software. I paid $50 plus stage 3.

NO fault codes yet.

As ECF mentioned, you can't check anywhere to see you have stage 3 being installed.

Hope this helps, it's truly amazing. You should do it NOW.

Anyone have dyno results with the Dinan Mods??? The seat of the pants rating is too subjective.

The only problem with a DYNO is that I read somewhere that you can't DYNO an Automatic tranny.....something about not being able to hold the RPMS long enough. If this is true then all us AUTO owners will have is the Butt-O-Meter!

In the vernacular of my kids..."oh yeah, my butt-0-meter is 10 hp better than your butt-o-meter"

lol
Anyway, I'm not a number/dyno guy so for me it's waste of money to have a few pulls for over $100.
I would rather go out and have a nice dinner with my wife with that money to burn.

BUT, that's just me.

It sure does!!! I can't stop driving around
My gas mileage went south though
no upshift belowe 5k
5k shift point? wow! what tranny do you have? With a manual that would make sense for the 'fun' factor, but for an auto that might be a bit harsh for a daily driver.
