Hi!
Do you want to betatest a new Dension FW which contains some Random handling improvements?
I am looking for any software upgrade on mine. Where is this software?

Soon in your inbox, just send me your email address in PM.
What type of HU do you have? Do you experience problems with random or repeat settings?

Yes, 2.06 is coming soon. On BMW side it will contain some random handling fixes and many minor bugfixes.
Also the diag computer will recognise the GW as a real CDC (no need for orig BMW CDC when enabling CD Changer capability).

Yes, I'm an insider. In this case the "soon" means about 2 weeks. The content will be frozen next week, then some administration, final tests etc.

I think you will be happy with the new random handling. In this cases the problem was that the head unit forces Random.Off when you change disk or track. You can try with a normal CD, if you set "random all" that setting will be kept only till the next Track selection. So an iPod interface should know some tricks.

Does the Dension have the same limit with regard to number of songs as the BMW iPod interface, i.e. 255 songs?

There are limits here also, ~4 billion songs...
The songs are organized to pages (folder Page 1, Page 2, etc.), where each page contains 50 elements.
There is also a search function, to start e.g an U2 song, you don't have to browse through 300-400 artists, just select Artist/Search. Then choose letter U and you'll see only that few artists whose name is starting with letter U. That makes browsing easier.
