I was driving along on the freeway at about 70 mph in the light traffic with my son sitting next to me in the passenger seat, everything normal and booom! all of a sudden got this warring displayed on my HUD and on the idrive (pictures attached) I asked my son to take the picture of the idrive screen using the iphone, in case i need to show this to the dealer.

When I got off the freeway, I pulled over and turned the car off for about a minute and restarted it. the warring disappeared and nothing in the idrive system msgs either. This was the first time I saw this and still I checked and all seems normal. So I continued driving and so far this has not come back. Strange

Has anybody experienced this. Should I be worried? this this was the only time I saw this, you think I should call bring this to the dealer and have them checked out. All seems normal now. May I should wait and see if this comes back and then have the dealer look at it. Your thoughts. The car is still under warranty.

thanks

yep i get this also, when i have my dog in the front...its down to the seat pad sensor (smalll children can trip it also) it thinks that the light weight on the seat is a faulty pad and throws up a warning...it can do this with shopping on the front seat also...what price safty eh..

I had the same problem. It had a bad seat sensor which the dealer replaced. But what is puzzling in your case is that the fault cleared after restarting the car. When I had that warning, it stayed on no matter how many times I restarted the car. When I asked my service advisor why the warning wouldn't go away, he said something about safety warnings like these (red ones) don't clear by themselves.

I had this thing go off the other day while I was crusing. Caught me off guard. It went away after I turned car off and back on.
